Introduction

Holy feast is one of the two sacraments given by the Lord Jesus Christ to the New Testament Church. The other one is baptism. We have to learn about the holy feast which is an important sacrament very clearly. It is good for every believer to know about the holy feast clearly with the help of the bible.

1. The Body of Lord Jesus Christ

God the father prepared a body for his son Lord Jesus Christ. "Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: 'Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me.'" (Hebrews 10:5). Lord Jesus Christ came into this world with the body that was prepared by the Father God. He did the will of the heavenly father in that body. He offered himself as a living sacrifice on the cross to save the world.

2. True Repentance

This is the first spiritual experience of a believer. One who does not have true repentance cannot accept Jesus Christ as his or her personal Saviour. When a person gets conviction of sin in his or her heart, he or she repents. John the Baptist preached the baptism of repentance. "He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins." (Luke 3:3).

3. Forgiveness of Sins

This is the second spiritual experience of a believer. Anyone who repents should receive forgiveness of sins. If he has not received the forgiveness of sins, his repentance is of no use. Sins of the heart are cleansed by the spirit of God and the sins of the conscious are cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. "…the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin." (I John 1:7). "And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood." (Revelation 1:5).

4. Baptism

This is the third spiritual experience. Anyone who has received the experience of true repentance and forgiveness of sins should take baptism. Sins of nature are buried here. He is also added as a member in the Church of God. "Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day." (Acts 2:41).

5. Anointing of the Holy Spirit

This is the fourth spiritual experience. Anyone who has obeyed the Lord in baptism should receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. "You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ." (Romans 8:9).

6. Spiritual Milk

New born babies desire to have milk. It is natural. In the same way the people who are born again in the spirit desire to have pure spiritual milk.

"Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation." — I Peter 2:2

Spiritual milk refers to the preliminary teachings of the word of God. "Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about cleansing rites, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment." (Hebrews 6:1,2).

7. Strong Food

As the babies grow, they are given solid food. Because grown up children will not be satisfied only with milk. In the same way believers who have grown in spiritual life will not be satisfied only with the elementary teachings of Christ. They need strong food. The deep doctrines of the scripture are called as strong food.

"But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil." — Hebrews 5:14

One of the strong foods is holy feast because this is a sacrament that is given only to the believers who have grown in their spiritual life. One who partakes in the holy feast should know clearly about the holy feast.
